ATTENDANCE:    New York State Law requires a WRITTEN note for any absence. This note is due on the day that the child returns to school. Parents are asked to please also call the school office in the morning whenever your child will be absent / late and to call the bus company too!

TRANSPORTATION:   It is the responsibility of the parents/caregiver/guardians to call their own bus companies to advise them when they will NOT need transportation. If you are picking up your child EARLY from school, please also call your bus company to let them know your child will not be going home on the bus.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS:   School closing, early dismissals resulting from weather conditions or other emergencies will be announced over the following radio stations and television stations: Capital News 9, WNYT, WRGB, WTEN, WXXA, WFLY - FLY 92, WGY-810

From the Nurse: In the event that your child should need medication during the school day, please follow these guidelines:
1. The nurse must have written instructions from the child's doctor for both prescription and over-the-counter medications, which indicates frequency and duration.
2. The nurse must also have written permission from the parent to dispense the medication as prescribed by the physician.
3. Prescription medications must be in the original container and should include the student's name, name of medication, dosage and frequency. Please ask your pharmacist to dispense the medications in two containers - one for school and one for home.
4. Please forward us new phone numbers and emergency contacts immediately. It is extremely important to be able to reach you in an emergency or when bad weather requires early closure of school. If we cannot reach you, we will need to contact other agencies to locate you.
